DoorDash, the food delivery platform, has commissioned Awake NY founder Angelo Baque to design a soccer capsule collection. The collaboration launches this summer, positioning a logistics company as an apparel brand six months before the 2026 World Cup arrives in the United States.

The move follows a pattern established by other non-fashion companies entering the category through credentialed collaborators. Baque's name provides the cultural authority. DoorDash provides the distribution reach. The capsule lives on both platforms, streetwear and delivery app, as if the two were always adjacent.

The timing is the tell. World Cup merchandise is a twelve-month cycle. DoorDash is entering at the midpoint, when the official kits have already been announced but the cultural conversation around the tournament is still warming up. The capsule exists to capture that gap.
